At Greenwalk, we believe walking is not only the best way to feel and discover the essence and beauty of a place, it's history, it's secrets; but also an almost therapeutic way of touring without the constraints of mass tourism.
ABOUT ME
My name is João Varanda. Born in Lisbon, I've lived all my life in the region of Sintra. I started giving tours in 2015 fresh out of University. Combining the love for my homeland and my new job in tourism I wrote my Master's thesis about it while studying Geography.
After hundreds of tours that included hikes, bikes and jeeps, in 2020 Greenwalk was forced to close due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2021, after the worst had passed (I hope), I decided to try and bring back Greenwalk on my own and offer small, private, personal walking tours of the region's most interesting and beautiful places. Join me and learn about what makes Portugal a unique country.
